i love notebooks.
at any given moment, i may have 3-4 notebooks in my purse.
i am a list-maker, a note-taker, an inspiration-gatherer.
a few days ago i was flipping through the pages of one of my notebooks and i found a list. it has no title or date, but this is what it says::
learn how to quilt
learn how to knit/crochet
graduate from college
sell original artwork
write thank you notes
follow my heart
practice patience
start and maintain a blog
write or co-author a book
write a magazine article
go to church
stop procrastinating
buy a house
seek happiness
go on a tropical vacation
at first i had no idea when or why i made this list, but then i remembered a scrapbook layout i created almost exactly a year ago... seven things to do before i die::
looking at the original list i can see that there are a couple of things i have accomplished, a couple of things that i would add, and a couple of things that mean something entirely different from what they meant when i wrote them.
two things i've accomplished::
started a blog... maintaining it is debatable
started going to church... i love my new home at living hope
two things i would have added to my list if i had known then what i know now::
plant a garden... i never realized how much i would love it
make healthy lifestyle changes... i have lost nearly 20 pounds this summer by eating whole foods and drinking water
two things that mean something entirely different::
seek happiness... it was not so much seeking, but accidental stumbling. i have found happiness, and his name is greg
follow my heart... i'm still working on this one, but when i wrote it, the change that needed to take place in my life wasn't the same change i need now
two things i would add to my list today::
become an activist
live a simpler, more sustainable life
all things considered, life is good, but it only gets better from here.
